Iran's Larijani says no to negotiations with US

TEHRAN — Iran will not negotiate with the United States, the country’s top national security official said in a post on X on Monday. Larijani, the head of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, made the comment while reacting to media reports that suggested Tehran had reached out through intermediaries asking to resume talks with the United States. Larijani, who was a key adviser to the late Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, denied media reports that Iranian officials had sought to initiate talks with the Trump administration following a wave of US-Israeli strikes on Iran over the weekend, which came after Tehran and Washington held three rounds of nuclear negotiations. He said Iranian forces “did not initiate the invasion.”US President Donald Trump’s “delusional fantasies” have plunged the Middle East into chaos, Larijani said. Trump has “plunged the region into chaos with his ‘false hopes’ and is now worried about further casualties of American troops,” said Larijani. “With his delusional actions, he has transformed his self-made slogan of ‘America First’ into ‘Israel First’ and sacrificed American soldiers for Israel’s quest for power,” he added in his post on X. — AgenciesTEHRAN — Iran will not negotiate with the United States, the country’s top national security official said in a post on X on Monday.
