Attempt to smuggle over 2.7 million amphetamine pills foiled in Eastern Province

DAMMAM — The General Directorate of Narcotics Control (GDNC), in coordination with the Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority (ZATCA), has foiled an attempt to smuggle 2,733,648 amphetamine pills concealed within a shipment of printing paper at King Abdulaziz Port in Dammam. The intended recipients were arrested in the regions of Riyadh, Al-Jouf and the Eastern Province, and they included two displaced persons and three Saudi nationals. Security authorities urged the public to report any activities related to drug smuggling or trafficking by calling over the number 911 in the regions of Makkah, Madinah, Riyadh and the Eastern Province, and 999 in other regions, or via the GDNC hotline: 995 and email:995@gdnc.gov.sa.
