Saudi FM attends Arab Consultative Meeting and meets counterparts of Syria, Sudan and Mauritania in Amman

AMMAN — Saudi Minister of Foreign Affairs Prince Faisal bin Farhan attended the Consultative Meeting of Arab Foreign Ministers, convened at the invitation of Jordan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Ayman Safadi. The meeting was held ahead of the resumed 165th ordinary session of the Council of the Arab League at the ministerial level in Amman on Monday. The meeting reviewed the latest regional developments, particularly those related to the agreement between Iran and the United States of America to end military operations and commence detailed negotiations. Discussions also covered key regional issues, foremost among them the developments in the Palestinian territories and Lebanon, as well as the importance of unifying efforts to preserve regional peace and security and prevent further security repercussions for countries across the region. The meeting was attended by Saudi Permanent Representative to the Arab League Ambassador Abdulaziz Al-Matar. Meanwhile, Minister of Foreign Affairs Prince Faisal bin Farhan met with his counterparts of Jordan, Syria and Mauritania on the sidelines of the 165th ordinary session of the Council of the Arab League at the ministerial level in Amman on Monday.During the meetings with Syria’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Asaad Al-Shaibani, Sudanese Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Mohieldin Salem Ahmed Ibrahim, and Mauritanian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Cooperation, and Mauritanians Abroad Dr. Mohamed Salem Ould Merzoug, Prince Faisal reviewed bilateral relations and ways to further improve them.
