MAKKAH — Several grand muftis and senior scholars from across the Islamic world strongly condemned and denounced the Iranian aggression against a number of Gulf, Arab, and Islamic countries, including attacks targeting residential areas and civilian infrastructure. They specially noted the blatant aggression against Saudi Arabia, which hosts Islam’s holiest sites, including the Holy Kaaba and the Prophet’s Mosque, and the threats faced by its surroundings. The scholars affirmed the full right of the affected states to take measures necessary to protect their security, sovereignty, and territorial integrity, and to deter aggression, the Saudi Press Agency reported. In calls and cables received by the Muslim World League (MWL), the scholars expressed deep sorrow over what they described as unprecedented aggression by a state considered Islamic against neighbors not engaged in military confrontation, voicing full support for the positions taken by the MWL in this regard. They stressed that if Iran does not cease its aggressive attacks, it will face Islamic isolation, followed by risks and consequences stemming from actions driven by ill intent and disregard for right and wrong. MWL Secretary General and Chairman of the Organization of Muslim Scholars Sheikh Mohammed Al-Issa expressed deep appreciation for the sentiments of Islamic solidarity expressed by scholars, noting their emphasis on unity and enhancing bonds across the Islamic world. He also highlighted their firm stance that such reckless and miscalculated aggression is unprecedented among Islamic nations.MAKKAH — Several grand muftis and senior scholars from across the Islamic world strongly condemned and denounced the Iranian aggression against a number of Gulf, Arab, and Islamic countries, including attacks targeting residential areas and civilian infrastructure.
