Hajj Ministry suspends 4 erring Umrah companies

MAKKAH — The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah announced the suspension of four Umrah companies from providing services for pilgrims after detecting several violations related to the organization of Umrah services. The decision forms part of the ministry’s ongoing efforts to monitor service providers’ compliance with approved regulations and instructions, as well as to ensure the quality of services delivered to pilgrims. The ministry explained that the violations included two companies submitting incorrect rosters of pilgrims’ groupings, while two other companies failed to accommodate pilgrims in accordance with the approved arrangements. These actions constitute clear breaches of the regulations and instructions governing services for Umrah pilgrims and visitors to the Prophet’s Mosque. The ministry affirmed that immediate legal action will be taken against the violating companies to safeguard the rights of pilgrims and prevent the recurrence of such violations. It noted that these measures reflect its commitment to enhancing the level of services provided, in line with the directives of the wise leadership and the objectives of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030. The ministry emphasized that it will not tolerate any negligence or breach of regulatory or contractual obligations, stressing that the rights of pilgrims remain a top priority and that the quality of services provided is a red line that cannot be crossed.
