Saudi Health Ministry urges domestic Hajj pilgrims to obtain necessary vaccinations

RIYADH — The Saudi Ministry of Health has urged domestic pilgrims intending to perform Hajj this year to obtain the required vaccinations. The ministry underscored its commitment to preventive healthcare and to safeguarding the health and well-being of pilgrims so that they can undertake their rituals in the best manner. The Ministry clarified that the meningococcal (neisseria) vaccine is mandatory for all pilgrims planning to perform Hajj, as well as for healthcare practitioners who have not received the vaccine within the past five years. Immunization status may be verified through the “Sehhaty” app. The ministry also recommended receiving the seasonal influenza vaccine, provided it was administered no earlier than September 1, 2025, and the COVID-19 vaccine, provided it was administered no earlier than January 1, 2025. The ministry urged all prospective pilgrims and healthcare practitioners to schedule vaccination appointments via the “Sehhaty” app at adult vaccination clinics. This initiative aligns with the ministry’s strategic objectives to advance preventive healthcare and to ensure the continued health and safety of pilgrims.RIYADH — The Saudi Ministry of Health has urged domestic pilgrims intending to perform Hajj this year to obtain the required vaccinations.
