Saudia launches direct Riyadh-Tokyo flights from November

JEDDAH — Saudia has announced the launch of direct flights between Riyadh and Tokyo, expanding its international network with three weekly services beginning in November 2026.The Kingdom’s national flag carrier said the new route will operate from King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, with bookings now available through Saudia’s digital platforms and authorized sales channels.The service is being launched in collaboration with the Air Connectivity Program and the Saudi Tourism Authority to strengthen air links with international markets, expand tourism, and boost commercial ties between Saudi Arabia and Japan.The airline said the new route supports the goals of the National Aviation Strategy, the National Tourism Strategy, and Saudi Vision 2030 by enhancing the Kingdom’s position as a global tourism destination and logistics hub.The Saudi Tourism Authority is also working with Japanese travel agencies and tourism partners to promote Saudi destinations and develop travel packages aimed at attracting more visitors from Japan.The launch comes ahead of Saudi Arabia’s hosting of the AFC Asian Cup 2027 and is expected to facilitate travel for Japanese fans and visitors attending the tournament.Saudia said the Tokyo route will also strengthen business, investment, trade, tourism, and cultural exchanges between the two countries.The airline currently serves more than 100 destinations across four continents with a fleet of 153 aircraft.
