RIYADH — Minister of Transport and Logistics Services and Chairman of the General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA), Eng. Saleh Al-Jasser, on Wednesday reviewed the completion of terminal reallocation operations at King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh.He was accompanied by GACA President Abdulaziz Al-Duailej, CEO of Matarat Holding Raed Al-Idrissi, CEO of Riyadh Airports Ayman Abu Abah, and several airport officials.During his field tour, Al-Jasser inspected passenger flow and operational performance across airport facilities in line with approved plans for the Ramadan season.He confirmed the successful completion of the terminal reallocation process, which involved redistributing airlines and flights among terminals to enhance operational efficiency and improve the travel experience.The move is expected to optimize the use of airport resources, including check-in counters, baggage belts, boarding bridges and passport control lanes, while reorganizing passenger and baggage flows to increase capacity.It also supports domestic and international connectivity and strengthens King Khalid International Airport’s role as a global logistics hub under the National Transport and Logistics Strategy.Al-Jasser said the terminal reallocation also aims to improve asset returns by maximizing the use of fixed airport resources and reengineering passenger movement and ground handling services.He noted that the initiative enhances the airport’s competitiveness in travel, cargo and logistics, and raises readiness for major international events.The effort coincides with the announcement of the third runway construction and related works under the King Salman International Airport master plan.For his part, Al-Duailej said the smooth and timely completion of the terminal reallocation forms part of a broader transformation plan to expand capacity and improve operational efficiency in line with the rapid growth of the Kingdom’s aviation sector.He added that the new model enhances service quality and reinforces King Khalid International Airport’s position as a key global gateway under the Aviation Program objectives, with positive operational impact on passenger experience and air cargo movement.Al-Jasser also toured check-in areas and received a briefing on operations during the Ramadan travel and Umrah season before concluding his visit by thanking airport staff and public and private sector partners for ensuring the successful and seamless implementation of the large-scale terminal transition.RIYADH — Minister of Transport and Logistics Services and Chairman of the General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA), Eng.
