JEDDAH — Heavy rainfall with possible flash floods is forecast across parts of the Kingdom, as the National Center for Meteorology (NCM) expects rainfall of varying intensity to continue through Friday. According to the NCM, heavy rain corresponds to 10–50 mm per hour or more and may be accompanied by downdraft winds of 60 km/h or more, near-zero horizontal visibility, hail, flash floods, high waves along coastal areas and possible tornadoes or waterspouts. Moderate rain, at 5–9 mm per hour, may bring downdraft winds of 50 km/h or more, reduced horizontal visibility, hail and possible flash floods, while light rain corresponds to 1–4 mm per hour. Moderate to heavy rain is forecast across parts of Jazan, Asir and Al-Baha. In Jazan, affected areas include Al-Rayth, Harub, Al-Dayer, Al-Eidabi, Fayfa, Al-Aridah, Al-Harth, Al-Tuwal, Al-Darb, Baysh, Sabya, Damad, Abu Arish, Ahad Al-Masarihah and Samtah. In Asir, moderate to heavy rain is forecast over Abha, Khamis Mushait, Ahad Rafidah, Sarat Abidah, Al-Harajah, Dhahran Al-Janub, Al-Farshah, Al-Namas, Tanomah, Rijal Almaa, Bareq, Mahayil Asir, Al-Majardah and Balqarn, with rainfall expected to intensify on Sunday and Friday. In Al-Baha, moderate to heavy rain is forecast over Al-Baha, Baljurashi, Al-Mandaq, Qilwah, Bani Hassan, Al-Qara, Al-Aqiq, Al-Hajrah and Ghamid Al-Zinad, intensifying on Monday and Tuesday. In the Makkah region, light to moderate rain is forecast over Taif, Maysan, Adham and Al-Ardiyat, while moderate to heavy rain is expected over Al-Kamil, Bahrah, Al-Jumum and Khulais, intensifying on Monday and Tuesday. Light to moderate rain is also forecast over Madinah, Al-Ula and Khaybar in the Madinah region, and over Najran, Badr Al-Janub, Yadamah, Thar, Hubuna and Khubash in Najran.
