JEDDAH — Heavy thunderstorms capable of causing flash floods, accompanied by hail and active winds stirring up dust and sand, are expected over parts of Jazan, Asir, Al-Baha, Makkah and Madinah on Thursday, according to the National Center for Meteorology (NCM). The NCM issued a red alertAl-Baha Region for Al-Aqiq from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m., while in Asir the red alert covers Ahad Rafidah and Khamis Mushait from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. A red alert was also issued for Madinah from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. Fog may also form over parts of those regions, as well as coastal parts of the Eastern Province. Light to moderate thunderstorms accompanied by active winds are also possible over parts of Al-Jouf, Hail and the Northern Borders, as well as northern parts of Al-Qassim and the Eastern Province. For temperatures, Dammam and Buraidah are forecast to record the highest temperatures at 41°C, followed by Riyadh and Madinah at 40°C and Makkah at 39°C. Hail and Jazan are forecast to reach 37°C, Najran 36°C, Jeddah 35°C, Arar and Sakaka 34°C, Tabuk 32°C, Abha 27°C and Al-Baha 26°C.
