RIYADH — The Executive Committee for Fuel Service Centers and Stations said a petroleum spill captured in a widely circulated video in Riyadh originated from a non-compliant fuel station. In a statement issued on Monday, the committee explained that the video clip circulating on social media showing damage to a vehicle resulted from a petroleum product spill on a road adjacent to a fuel station that occurred on Tuesday, June 2, 2026 (16 Dhu Al-Hijjah). According to the committee, the spill originated from a closed fuel station that was not compliant with regulatory requirements. The station had been selling diesel fuel to tanker trucks operating in violation of regulations and without a license from the Ministry of Energy. It was also confirmed that Civil Defense teams responded to the incident immediately, implemented all necessary safety measures, and that no injuries resulted. Investigations and legal procedures are currently underway to hold those responsible accountable and to compensate those affected by the incident. The committee also emphasized the importance of reporting any observations or suspicious activities at fuel stations by contacting the toll-free number or through the Taqa application for partner services.RIYADH — The Executive Committee for Fuel Service Centers and Stations said a petroleum spill captured in a widely circulated video in Riyadh originated from a non-compliant fuel station.
