RIYADH — The Transport General Authority (TGA) has announced an extension of up to six months to the operational lifespan of vehicles used in taxi services and private car rentals, extending the deadline to June 30, 2027. The decision applies to vehicles whose permitted operational lifespan expires at the end of 2026, allowing establishments to continue using them for an additional period. The authority explained that the extension aims to enhance operational flexibility, ensure service continuity and ease the burden of replacing vehicles, while maintaining safety requirements and service quality standards. The decision also seeks to help establishments maximize the use of their existing vehicles and improve operational efficiency. The TGA emphasized that the measure forms part of its ongoing efforts to develop the regulatory environment for transport activities, enhance service sustainability and support the sector’s long-term growth.RIYADH — The Transport General Authority (TGA) has announced an extension of up to six months to the operational lifespan of vehicles used in taxi services and private car rentals, extending the deadline to June 30, 2027.
