OSLO — Saudi Arabia reaffirmed its support for efforts to end the war in Gaza and achieve an independent Palestinian state during the Oslo Forum 2026. Represented by Minister Plenipotentiary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Manal Radwan, the Kingdom participated in the forum’s main session, “Mediation in a Turbulent Middle East,” held under the patronage of the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. In her remarks, Radwan stressed that the establishment of an independent Palestinian state and the fulfillment of the Palestinian people’s legitimate rights remain essential to achieving lasting peace and regional integration. She highlighted the Kingdom’s efforts to advance these goals, including the Global Alliance for the Implementation of the Two-State Solution and the New York Declaration, which she described as practical frameworks for promoting peace. She further underscored the Kingdom’s longstanding role in mediation and sustainable peacebuilding. Radwan noted that decades of regional power politics have exacted high humanitarian, political, and economic costs, stressing that lasting stability cannot be achieved through dominance or imposed realities but through a collective security framework grounded in cooperation, state sovereignty, strong national institutions, and adherence to international law. She also observed that, while Israel continues to pursue a security doctrine based on military superiority, other regional actors have shown an increasing willingness to embrace cooperative security approaches and engage in joint action. Radwan added that the continued occupation, along with annexation and settlement policies, undermines efforts to build a sustainable regional security architecture. In conclusion, Radwan said the humanitarian toll of wars, occupation, and external interference is no longer acceptable and that the peoples of the region deserve a future founded on peace, development, and cooperation. She affirmed that Saudi Arabia will continue working through its strategic partnerships and regional and international roles to advance sustainable peace and security.OSLO — Saudi Arabia reaffirmed its support for efforts to end the war in Gaza and achieve an independent Palestinian state during the Oslo Forum 2026.
