Saudi Energy Ministry detects 847 violations in over 10,000 inspections

RIYADH — The Ministry of Energy’s inspection teams conducted 10,746 visits in August 2026, detecting 847 violations. The violations involved regulations on petroleum and petrochemical materials and the distribution of dry gas and liquefied petroleum gas for residential and commercial use. Key violations included operating petroleum or petrochemical activities without the required licenses, selling LPG cylinders without a license, failing to comply with approved gas tariffs, transporting or selling petroleum products through unlicensed carriers, and using petroleum products for unauthorized purposes. The inspections are part of the ministry’s efforts to strengthen regulatory compliance, safeguard the security and reliability of petroleum and petrochemical supplies, improve oversight and curb practices that could harm the market. The ministry urged consumers to report violations through the 1914 toll-free number, the Taqah app or Tawakkalna.
