RIYADH — The Saudi Traffic Department has warned vehicle owners against tinting car windows in violation of the specified regulations, cautioning that offenders will face fines ranging from SR500 to SR900. The department has set clear rules governing window tinting. Tinting of rear windows is permitted at a rate not exceeding 30 percent, striking a balance between privacy and safety. This level of tint helps reduce interior vehicle temperatures and protects against harmful sun exposure without obstructing passengers’ visibility. However, tinting of the windshield more than the allowed percentage is prohibited to ensure it does not compromise the clear visibility required for safe driving. Under the regulations, tinting is allowed on the front side windows and rear window, provided it remains sufficiently transparent so as not to obstruct vision. The use of reflective or mirror-like tint is prohibited, as is the placement of images or decorative materials on glass that could impede visibility.RIYADH — The Saudi Traffic Department has warned vehicle owners against tinting car windows in violation of the specified regulations, cautioning that offenders will face fines ranging from SR500 to SR900.
